Copying of hard drive is called Cloning. Cloning is not creating backup of the data. Creating a perfect copy of the whole hard drive means when we clone a hard drive you recreate the entire drive with its environment, partitions, everything in it. This includes bit by bit copy of whole drive so that we can get the exact copy of the disk.
